Vasseur delivers 'huge fight' F1 prediction
Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur is predicting a "huge fight" in Formula 1 this season, with several teams in contention for the title.
Vasseur, who joined Ferrari from Alfa Romeo over the winter, believes that the new regulations have levelled the playing field and that there are now several teams who can challenge for race wins and the championship.
“I think it's going to be a huge fight,” Vasseur said. “The new regulations have changed the game, and I think we're going to see a lot of different teams winning races this year.”
Vasseur pointed to Red Bull, Mercedes, and Aston Martin as the teams to watch in 2023.
“Red Bull is obviously the team to beat,” Vasseur said. “They've been very strong in pre-season testing, and they have a great car. But I think Mercedes and Aston Martin are also looking very good.”
Vasseur believes that Ferrari has the potential to challenge for the title this season, but he knows that it will be a tough task.
“We have a good car, and we have a great team,” Vasseur said. “But we know that it's going to be a long and difficult season. We need to be consistent, and we need to make sure that we don't make any mistakes.”
The 2023 Formula 1 season begins on March 5th with the Bahrain Grand Prix.
